A new Welsh Food and Drink Shop opened last year called “Bwtri Y Crochan” which translates into English as The Y Crochan Larder. Linked, through an archway from Y Crochan cafe, The Larder stocks a tasty selection of Welsh food and drink, much of which has been grown, reared or produced within a few miles of Corris. You will find a selection of Welsh cheeses including cheddars, goats cheese and soft cheeses, butter, milk, meats, preserves, honey, biscuits, cakes, patés, sauces, dressings, apple juice and more. Come and enjoy a little taste of Wales…
Also starting from the Craft Centre is a range of attractions to entertain all members of the family: King Arthur’s Labyrinth is an underground storytelling adventure, where visitors sail underground and through a waterfall to the past. Back in the darkest of the Dark Ages tales of King Arthur and other ancient Welsh legends are told with dramatic scenes, light and sound. The King Arthur’s Labyrinth shop sells a wide range of books, gifts and souvenirs on the Celtic Arthurian theme.
More stories can be found above ground in a further attraction Bards’ Quest where you are invited to explore the paths of time to find ancient Welsh tales which have been passed down, through the ages, by bards and storytellers. Stop and be enthralled by some great stories from Wales.
A further attraction, which also starts from the Craft Centre is Corris Mine Explorers which provides visitors with a rare opportunity to explore the abandoned workings of an old Welsh slate mine with one of Wales’ top Mine Explorers. The mine was first worked in 1836 and abandoned by the miners around 40 years ago. More than 130 years of mining history is captured inside waiting to be discovered.
At the centre of all of these attractions is Y Crochan cafe where a tasty range of hot and cold food and drinks are served throughout the day. There is also a small children’s play area on site.
